A painter and decorator from Nantes, Étienne de Lierres exhibited at the Nationale Salon, the Salon des Beaux-Arts, the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs et the Salon des Peintres Animaliers. He participated in bookbinding exhibitions between 1919-1939, and contributed examples of wallpaper decoration to several popular texts on the subject during this period. De Lierres was also active as an illustrator, contributing to a 1902 edition of Jean Lorrain's Princesses d'Ivoire et d'Ivresse.
