Philip Padwick was born in Sussex and studied at the Slade School of Art. He exhibited extensively throughout his lifetime at the RA, ROI and RBA (both of which he was made a member of), RHA, RSA, NEAC, the Paris Salon, and held commercial shows at the Fine Art Society and Chenil Gallery  among others.

 

His works can be found in the collections of Brighton and Hove Museums and Art Galleries, Derby Art Gallery, Gallery Oldham, Glasgow Museums, Lakeland Arts Trust, National Trust for Scotland, Newport Museum and Art Gallery, Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Rye Art Gallery, Southend Museums Service and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery.
