The present work can be closely compared with many of Van Wittel's drawings. Representative examples, particularly comparable to the present work, include two in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (Inv. no. 2411126 & 2411127) and a further landscape drawing in the Royal Collections Trust (RCIN 906595).
